MILAN (AIMnews.it) - Portale Sardegna has acquired 51% of Royal Travel Jet Sardegna, active in online tour operating services in Italy, with a focus on luxury tourism, and owner of the Network Charming brand. "The acquisition of Royal Travel Jet allows us to achieve the strategic objectives declared in the IPOs to expand the offer to new product segments, internationalisation and deseasonalisation - said AD Massimiliano Cossu - We are confident that the involvement in the capital and governance of the founders of Royal Travel Jet, which will bring new and specialised skills and a long track record of success, will give new impetus to our company. "Gianluca Atzeri, General Manager of Royal Travel Jet: The Charming Project and that of Portal Sardinia are activites born in Sardinia, in the same historical and economic moment, these two projects immediately took two well-defined paths, deciding to focus each one on a well-defined target and market: medium / high market in Italy for the portal and international market high end for Charming. For more than ten years these two projects have grown side by side up to today, when the two projects meet, finding strength and generating growth thanks to their excellent complementarity. We are sure that, thanks to our common way of making quality tourism, this route will bring Charming and Portale Sardegna to be the reference point for all travelers who want to experience an authentic experience in Sardinia and, in general, in Italian sea areas". Portale Sardegna paid Acacia Travel Holding 550.000 euros (100.000 cash and 450.000 through long-term unsecured loans) and obtained a 12-month call option on the remaining 49% (for 550.000 euros if exercised within the year and 600.000 euros subsequently). The new group Portal Sardinia can count on a total of about 5 million visitors in the portals of property (compared to the current 2 million) and an additional customer database of about 150.000 names, which will lead the company's database to exceed 330.000, on which to encourage cross-selling actions. Acacia also took over from some minority shareholders of Portale Sardegna 127,586 ordinary shares (7.738% of the capital) for about 210.000 euros, with lock up until November 2020, becoming the fourth shareholder behind Massimiliano Cossu (9.46%), Marco Demurtas (8.8%) and Flexagon (9.0% overall).
