MILAN (AIMnews.it) - There were 26 new IPOs in 2018: 19 companies and 7 SPACs (24 in 2017, of which 8 were SPAC). On the MTA, on the other hand, 4 companies were listed on the MIV 1 società (7 on MTA and 1 on MIV in 2017). This was revealed by the AIM Italia Osservatorio of IR Top Consulting. 46% of the IPOs come from 3 sectors: Industrial (6), Technology (4), Services (2). Five IPOs are relatively recent, in the stages following the startup. The Financial sector, which includes the SPAC, is in first place for the number of new listings (27%). The IPOs of the Technology, Fashion & Luxury and Food sectors show the greatest size in terms of average revenues. 62% of the new companies come from Lombardy, followed by Lazio, Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Tuscany (8% respectively). In 2018, total deposits amounted to € 1.32 billion (1.26 in 2017), more than 6 times the pre-PIR level of 2016. Average funding of the IPOs in 2018 amounted to around € 8 million (at the net of SPAC).
